Idlewine events

At Idlewine we host a range of events for the absolute novice or the astute wine connoisseur. Our events can be for both large or small gatherings, for stand up informal wine tastings or educational sit down food and wine marriages.

At an Idlewine event our aim is to create an atmosphere where indulgence and education meet. An enjoyable experience where a greater thirst for the vinous delights of the world of wine is guaranteed. We will stimulate, we will educate and we will all without doubt appreciate the infinite pleasures obtained from this glorious fruit of the vine.

Idlewine School


The world of wine is fascinating to explore. Idlewine is here to guide you through the intricasies of the grape and to expose the delights of the vine. Throughout the year we run several short courses including:

  • Introduction to Wine - Master the different grape varieties, regions and styles so that you are comfortable ordering wine anywhere. Discover your favourites in 4 evenings over 4 weeks. £140 (next course starts 12/01/10)
  • Vins de France – The French don’t know much but they know how to make wine. A 3 hour course to explore the regions of the greatest wine producing country on the planet. £35 (next course 23/02/10)
  • Vini di Italia - know your chianti from your cattarato. A 3 hour course to unravel the complexity of great Italian wine. £35(next course 16/03/10)
  • Cheese and wine pairing – like Torville and Dean, great wine and cheese is a marriage made in heaven. We will show you some of the best combinations £35 (next courses 27/04/10)

Tapas or Canapes are served at Idlewine courses.


Wine tastings


If you are looking to organise an fun event to entertain friends or colleagues, we can recommend a number of wine tastings sessions. Here are a few suggestions:

Wine dinners


Throughout the year we will be hosting a number of wine maker dinners. They are a great chance to meet winemakers themselves, as well as a fun event with like minded people. Not to mention great food and wine! Numbers are limited to 18 guests per dinner.


You can also book our wine cave for an intimate dining experience for up to 6 people with the full attention of our sommelier. Please contact us for more information.
